The Children’s Respite Home provides respite...a brief rest…for families raising children with Autism, Asperger’s, Down’s Syndrome, and/or other developmental disabilities. Respite Care gives family members “time off” from daily challenges, providing the opportunity to recuperate. At Heartstrings, we are committed to providing a safe and structured environment for children. Heartstrings believes in the “family system”.
We welcome children on the weekends, when respite is needed the most.
We support 3 children at a time (up to 156 children & families annually).
Our home is located in a pleasant neighborhood in Shakopee, MN.
We accept referrals from all MN counties.
We are licensed to support children birth – 17 years.
Heartstrings promotes relationship-based, cost-effective services that preserve and maintain families in their home environment. Heartstrings places children together who have similar interests; promoting social opportunities, stability, and shared experiences (families and child). Our staff engage children in community activities, sensory integration, and individualized supports while providing a safe and structured environment.
